Hey Freelance Friends!

In the ever-expanding universe of freelance tools and remote job boards, Zenfy has emerged like a shiny new spaceship offering a sleek promise:

"Find remote work, build your skills, and launch your freelance career — all in one platform."

Zenfy

Sounds ideal, right? With AI-powered matching, curated job leads, and a library of upskilling resources, Zenfy markets itself as the career cockpit for freelancers seeking momentum. But beneath the surface of its modern UI and glossy testimonials, the real story is more complicated.

We spent the past week digging deep into Zenfy, interviewing users, analyzing their platform claims, scrutinizing public reviews, and comparing it to other freelance platforms.

Here's everything you need to know.

The Pitch: Convenience Meets Career Growth

Zenfy isn’t just another job board. It promises to be a hybrid hub: part learning center, part curated job portal, part career coach. Freelancers create a profile, and Zenfy delivers job matches based on their skills and goals. Meanwhile, users can access quick, modern tutorials on tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Notion, and more, supposedly making them more competitive candidates.

For new freelancers or those pivoting into remote work, that sounds like gold.

The Promise vs. The Price

Here’s where the cracks start to show.

Zenfy runs on a subscription model. Some users report seeing an initial “trial” for around $10, but many quickly discover that without clear notice, they’re auto-renewed at full price (reportedly as high as $65/month). Several reviewers on Trustpilot and scam-monitoring blogs flag this as a bait-and-switch tactic. Others complain that canceling the subscription isn’t as straightforward as they’d hoped, with limited refunds or support when disputes arise.

This begs the question: What exactly are you paying for?

The Content: Useful, But Not Unique

Zenfy offers educational resources and “personalized” learning paths. The content includes:

  • Intro courses on AI tools

  • Tips for writing better proposals

  • Career advice for remote work beginners

While genuinely helpful to some, the majority of the content appears to be brief, surface-level, and easily found on YouTube or Medium for free. Zenfy isn’t reinventing the wheel; it’s bundling existing information into a clean interface.

One user described the dashboard as feeling "a bit empty" once inside, with some news articles and quick wins, but little depth.

Do Freelancers Actually Get Hired?

This is the question that makes or breaks a freelance platform. And here, Zenfy delivers mixed results.

Some users report real job leads, responses from recruiters, and even landing small gigs, particularly in roles like customer support, virtual assistance, and writing. One reviewer said Zenfy helped them find their first fully remote job after weeks of dead ends elsewhere.

But others, and there are many, report no meaningful outcomes despite applying to dozens of roles. Worse, the job leads themselves often link out to public postings on LinkedIn, Indeed, or company sites. Meaning? You might be paying for job links that are already free elsewhere.

The Red Flags

  • Overly glowing reviews: Many of Zenfy’s testimonials read like marketing copy, generic phrases, suspiciously similar structure, and few verifiable success stories.

  • Aggressive upselling: Users have received unsolicited texts and emails with limited-time offers or vague “career alerts.”

  • Opaque refund policy: Once charged, refunds are hard to secure. Some users were offered only a 50% refund, even after immediate cancellation.

These aren’t fatal flaws, but they are worth noting, especially if you’re a cautious or budget-conscious freelancer.

How It Stacks Up

Compared to platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, or FlexJobs, Zenfy is still finding its niche:

  • Upwork/Fiverr: Direct marketplaces, high competition, no upfront fees. You only pay when you earn.

  • FlexJobs: Curated job board with transparent pricing and strong reputation. Less educational content.

  • Zenfy: Guided onboarding, educational courses, and job aggregation, but unproven ROI and a steep monthly cost.

If you’re confident in your ability to research job leads and upskill independently, Zenfy might feel redundant.

Final Verdict: Worth It for Some, But Not Most

Zenfy isn’t a scam. It’s a well-designed product with a clear audience: freelancers who are brand new to the game and want structured help. If that’s you, and you have money to invest in early momentum, it could be useful.

But for experienced freelancers or those cautious about subscriptions, Zenfy offers little you can’t find elsewhere, often for free.

Our advice? Try the trial if you're curious, but set a cancellation reminder. And measure the platform by this metric: Does it get you paid?
