1. PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENT

This document sets out how Freelance Forward and Profreelance classify, label, and disclose the content we publish, including our editorial opinions, our use of affiliate relationships, our position on artificial intelligence, and the limitations of the information we provide. It is published for the benefit of our readers and is referenced in every edition of Freelance Forward.

  1. CLASSIFICATION OF CONTENT

2.1 Freelance Forward publishes two categories of content:

(a) Reporting and Educational Content, which presents factual information, tool comparisons, platform mechanics, and data, verified against primary sources at the time of publication; and

(b) Opinion and Commentary, which presents the editorial viewpoint of Profreelance and its writers, clearly labeled as such at the point of publication.

2.2 Opinion and Commentary reflects the good-faith view of the author, formed on the basis of publicly available information, direct experience, or matters of public record. It is not a statement of fact concerning any individual, business, platform, or organisation beyond what is publicly verifiable at the time of writing.

2.3 Profreelance does not publish claims it cannot substantiate. Where an error of fact is identified, Profreelance will correct the relevant content promptly upon verification. Readers may raise concerns by replying to any edition of Freelance Forward or by sending and email to [email protected].

  1. POSITION ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

3.1 All bylined articles published by Freelance Forward are written by human writers. Artificial intelligence tools are used to support the research, editing, and fact-checking process for this content, but do not generate the original writing or editorial argument.

3.2 Data visualisations and graphics accompanying articles are designed by human designers. Some visual assets, including illustrative imagery such as the current Freelance Forward thumbnail, are AI-generated. Social media captions may be AI-assisted; social media graphics are human-designed.

3.3 Profreelance's position is that artificial intelligence is a tool that supports human editorial work, not a replacement for it. We do not publish articles substantively written by AI and presented as original reporting or commentary, and we do not use AI-generated content to imitate human experience or expertise we do not have.

3.4 Editorial coverage of artificial intelligence tools and platforms (including, without limitation, ChatGPT and Midjourney) is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute an endorsement of AI-generated content as a wholesale substitute for original human work.

  1. TOOLS, PLATFORMS, AND THIRD-PARTY PRODUCTS

4.1 Freelance Forward publishes coverage of third-party tools, software, and platforms used by freelancers. This coverage reflects the assessment of Profreelance at the time of publication and does not constitute a guarantee of suitability, performance, pricing, or availability for any individual reader's circumstances.

4.2 Third-party tools and platforms are subject to change without notice by their respective providers. Readers are responsible for independently verifying current terms, pricing, and functionality before making decisions.

  1. AFFILIATE RELATIONSHIPS AND SPONSORED CONTENT

5.1 Certain links published in Freelance Forward are affiliate links. Where a reader completes a purchase or sign-up through such a link, Profreelance may receive a commission at no additional cost to the reader.

5.2 Given that Freelance Forward is produced by a single-person editorial operation, affiliate relationships are not flagged individually at every link. Instead, this document is linked at the close of every edition of Freelance Forward and constitutes the standing disclosure referred to in this section. By linking this document in each edition, Profreelance discloses, on an ongoing and edition-by-edition basis, that:

STANDING NOTICE: This edition of Freelance Forward may contain affiliate links. Where a reader signs up for, or purchases, a product or service through such a link, Freelance Forward may earn a commission at no additional cost to the reader.

5.3 This standing notice applies to every edition in which this document is linked, without requiring restatement within the body of that edition.

5.4 Any sponsored content will be clearly labeled "Sponsored" within the content itself.

5.5 Editorial decisions, including which tools are covered and the manner in which they are assessed, are made independently of commercial or affiliate relationships.

6.1 Freelance Forward is provided free of charge. Readers who wish to support its continued production may do so on a voluntary basis via [Ko-fi - https://ko-fi.com/profreelance]

6.2 Voluntary financial support from readers has no bearing on editorial content, editorial independence, or a reader's access to any edition of Freelance Forward.
